Description
In his book, the American journalist Jeremy Scahill uncovers the story of how an ordinary security company turned into the largest private army in the world, whose main activity consists of taking part in international military conflicts, and whose principal client is the state. In Afghanistan and Iraq, Blackwater (now Academi) dealt with the civilian population with particular brutality and engaged in arms smuggling, which received wide coverage in the media. The author exposes the true nature and power of this parallel private army, on which the US government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars and for which neither laws nor moral principles exist.
