Description

Jane Austen is rightly considered the first lady of English literature. Her works are required reading at all colleges and universities in Great Britain. Her books are recognized masterpieces and win readers over with the sincerity and simplicity of their plots. "Emma" is the most biting, the most precise, and the most sarcastic of the writer's works, and also the last one to be published during her lifetime. This story is rather atypical: the heroine is not poor - she has everything, a good home, a loving father, a fortune - only a husband is missing. But she is in no hurry to marry, preferring to arrange the fates of her friends and acquaintances, and in doing so sometimes finds herself in an awkward position. In the process of managing other people's personal lives, Emma very nearly overlooks her own happiness. The book includes two novels by the well-known English writer Jane Austen - "Emma" and "Love and Friendship."
