Description
The Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary is one of the largest Russian encyclopedias, standing alongside such monumental works as the French "Larousse," the German "Brockhaus," and the English "Encyclopaedia Britannica." This national treasure is now, unfortunately, accessible only to narrow specialists, although its name is familiar to everyone. We offer for your attention a modern version of the famous encyclopedia, which contains comprehensive information in the most varied fields of social life, such as history, philosophy, jurisprudence, economics, geography, the history of art and literature, ethnography, zoology, geology, physics, chemistry, botany, anatomy, architecture, and military and naval affairs. Giving a real opportunity to look into past eras, to recreate the picture of the world past and present, and to make the most fascinating comparisons, the book will be of interest both to specialists - historians, writers, linguists, literary scholars - and to the widest circle of readers.
